21Monsieur Adrien Maeght President of the Marguerite and Aimé Maeght Foundation have appointed Monsieur Olivier Kaeppelin
as director of the Foundation

«Olivier Kaeppelin is a man of culture and letters in touch with the artists of his time. For almost 25 years, he has been working with the Maeght Foundation and will now be responsible for running not only the current programme, but also, in the tradition of the Foundation’s great exhibitions, he will be proposing new approaches to explore. I am delighted that he has joined us ». Thus declared Monsieur Adrien Maeght, President of the Marguerite and Aimé Maeght Foundation.

« Olivier Kaeppelin is an old friend of the Foundation who shares its passion for artists and their works and is equally keen to encourage dialogue with the public. The board is delighted to welcome this friend who is also a visionary and a man of commitment. We know we can count on him to honor the Foundation’s tradition while renewing the spirit that makes this place unique » says Mme Isabelle Maeght, the Foundation’s administrator who took on the role of director when Michel Enrici, director from 2006-2009, retired.

Olivier Kaeppelin, is also the curator of the “Erik Dietman, Monomental”, exhibition currently on show at the Foundation. He will assume his responsabilities as director in July 2011: « The Maeght Foundation with its cultural and artistic effervescence is a source of inspiration in itself. The Foundation is the expression of the importance of creation and innovation, encouraging dialogue and exchanges between the arts and shared creativity. It is an honor for me to be part of this institution; as director I will be able to contribute to extending its influence to future generations. I know that I have taken on a demanding mission, but it is one which I find totally exciting. The Maeght Foundation and the artists displayed must contribute to a deeper understanding of our time, and its invention. »
