From 30 March -16 June 2013, the Maeght Foundation will play host to contemporary artist Gloria Friedmann. Paintings, sculptures, videos, photography, installations: the exhibition will present all the diversity of the artist's work, with mainly recent works, many of which are entirely new, contrasting with older works. Between nature and culture, humanity and animality, the exhibition will extend to both the indoor and outdoor areas of the Foundation and will include the presentation of a monumental sculpture, Les Inséparables, created especially for the exhibition.

Originally from Germany the committed artist, philosopher and humanist, Gloria Friedmann, has worked in France since 1980. Her work is an intense exploration of our relationship with nature, which she sees as being marked by a form of rootlessness and by the violent history in the first half of the 20th century. Trained in the film industry in the 1970s, Gloria Friedmann began her artistic journey as a self-taught photographer, then unleashed a powerful body of work spanning an enormous variety of forms and techniques.

La Société des Amis a le plaisir de vous inviter à rencontrer Jacques Martinez autour d’un débat.

Jacques Martinez est peintre et sculpteur. Le vendredi 8 février, il viendra parler de son livre "Espagnol de Merde" ou la véritable et longue histoire des cinq saisons, paru aux Editions Grasset en octobre 2012 et à propos duquel Philippe Trétiack a écrit dans Elle (n°3489, 09/11/12) " Quel beau livre ! Un de ceux qui vous embellissent l'existence et vous rendent un peu plus intelligent ". Ce livre trouve son origine à Nice et sur la Côte d’Azur dont Jacques Martinez a été un des acteurs artistiques tout au long de ces années.

Cette rencontre sera animée par Olivier Kaeppelin, Directeur de la Fondation en présence d’Hélène Jourdan-Gassin.
