For its fiftieth anniversary, seven institutions from the South-East to the Great West pay tribute to the Marguerite and Aimé Maeght Foundation

In 2014, the Maeght Foundation invites all art lovers to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary both on the hills of Saint-Paul de Vence and a little further: from Antibes and Biot, to Nice and Vallauris all the way to the Domaine de Kerguéhennec in Brittainy, who has chosen to devote its summer exhibition to the Maeght Foundation and its friends.

"Everything is openness, dialogue and sharing in the history of the Foundation which is why we are happy today to associate this anniversary with these amicable places of art and culture. Marguerite and Aimé Maeght created the Foundation with the artists; its architecture is open onto the sky and its gardens. Sert’s plans themselves were discussed with Miró and Giacometti; major exhibitions relied on and still rely on numerous collaborations. In fidelity to this spirit, we decided, together with these amicable museums or art centers, to offer a real journey for art lovers", says Olivier Kaeppelin, director of the Maeght Foundation.
